lightweight backpacking

Backpacking can be a very enjoyable activity, full of fun experiences that can leave an individual with many wonderful memories, but not if all they remember is traveling with a heavy, overstuffed backpack. For traditional backpackers, toting around 30 to 50 pounds of backpacking equipment is the norm. Yet not all individuals can or would want to be burdened with all of that weight. This is why many are taking to lightweight backpacking. Lightweight backpackers travel with a considerably less amount of gear, bringing backpacking equipment down to between 12 to 20 pounds. This can alleviate a lot of stress from the body and cause a more enjoyable trip.

Heavier backpacks can cause serious problems for many people. If a person is consistently packing 30 to 50 pounds of gear, then over a period of time they may experience exhaustion, increased chances of injuries, the chance of falling by making poor foot placement and of course being tired and cranky. The elimination of some of the weight can allow individuals to have more fun on their trip and have more fun to do the exciting things that have been planned, instead of being tired from carrying all of the heavy backpacking equipment. Lightweight backpacking is being practiced by more and more individuals who are far less worried about the amount of backpacking equipment that they bring and more interested in what they gain from the experience itself.

When backpacking hiking with less gear, simply do not take more than what you know you will need. Many people tend to pack duplicate equipment just in case, but many people never need the duplicate gear. Believe it or not, packing your everyday 12 ounce tube of toothpaste or your ultra mega bottle of sunscreen can add to the weight content of your backpack very quickly, yet you will never need those amounts of products for a weekend or even a week long trip.

Instead, try packing trial size bottles of products so that you are more comfortable when traveling. Another item that can significantly add to your backpacking weight is packing unnecessary food. This is where deliberate food planning comes in. Many lightweight backpackers have found that packing food consistent with a 2,000 calorie a day diet relieves them of a lot of weight.

This averages out to about 1.5 pounds of daily food and can actually reduce the average backpacker’s weight by over 5 pounds, in food alone. While there are other items that can be deleted from your backpack to drop weight, starting with items like these can get you off and running.

Backpacking can be a enjoyable activity but one that can become very cumbersome, if a individual’s backpack becomes extremely heavy. If you become a weary traveler, what fun will you really have? Lightweight backpacking allows individuals the freedom to do more activities. While there are individuals who can handle the heavy 30 to 50 pound packs while traveling, without any problems, is it truly necessary? If you can take all that you need for your weekend or even week long trip in a 12 to 20 pound, or even 25 pound pack, then why wouldn’t you?

Awesome Soccer Moves, Learn These First

Tuesday, September 30th, 2008

The basis for some really awesome soccer moves lies in mastering the basics.  Learning the basics is not hard but as with anything it does take practice.  The importance of mastering the following moves is vital if your going to take your game to the next level. The following article list's 3 moves that are essential to learn.

The first move is called dribbling.  Dribbling is one of the most important moves you can learn in soccer.  Whether you know it or not, dribbling is a foundational move that you can build on.  Basically, dribbling involves moving a soccer ball up and down and back and forth on a field in a stable manner.  All dribbling is, is the ability of a player to move the ball back and forth in a controlled manner from the left foot to the right foot while progressing forward.  You can learn to dribble by pushing, tapping or shoving the ball with the sole, inside or outside of the foot.  Before you commence practicing your dribbling skills, you first need to get acquainted with the ball.  The best way to do this is to simply juggle a soccer ball with both feet.  By juggling the ball, you will build up coordination and begin to get a good feel and sense of the ball which will help in all moves you attempt to learn in the future.

The second move we are going to discuss is passing. In general, there are but only two types of passing, the push or short pass and the long pass.  What encompasses passing is having the ability to move the ball from one player to the next without the other team taking it away.  As far as accuracy is concerned, the push pass is better than the long pass.  The push pass uses the inside and middle portions of either foot.  In essence, you will be striking the ball with the middle inside portion of the foot that you want to pass with.  Your other foot will be used to help aim the pass by being pointed in the direction you want the ball to go and planted next to the ball itself.  The same foes for the long pass.  It is important to keep your eyes on the ball and all times.  This aids in the accuracy of the pass.

Our final move is the actual shot.  Arguably, accuracy is the most important aspect when taking a shot on goal.  Most of us can kick a ball hard, but the select few who can do it accurately stand out amongst us.  Using the instruction on passing the ball from above, you need to plant your foot that is not striking the ball next to the ball and pointing in the direction you want it to end up.  The foot that actually kicks the ball needs to be done so with the inside and on an angle to the foot.  Look down at your foot and picture it as a right angle.  The top of your foot will be at ninety degrees and the bottom will be at zero degrees.  You want to kick the ball at the forty five degree mark of your foot.  This will yield the most power. And as always, you must never take your eye off the ball.

So that’s it, 3 sure fire soccer moves to build a solid foundation around.  Upon mastering these moves, you can then move on to learn those really awesome soccer moves that you desire. To grow as a player it is imperative that you always practice whenever possible.  You know how the old saying goes, “Practice makes perfect”, well in soccer this couldn’t be more accurate.  Check out my bio below for a great program that will teach you all kinds of soccer moves, positions and training.

Golf Instruction Video Programs Provide Key Training Rewards On Top Of Lessons

Tuesday, September 30th, 2008

Golf is a sport that has been around for centuries and which has become one of the most popular types of hobby sports there is. There are golfers who come from virtually every part of the globe and all different backgrounds, and most all of them are interested in learning how to lower their scores and become better at the game. Golf instruction video programs are an excellent way to gain additional skills and learn how to improve your techniques.

While having golfing lessons under the tutelage of a professional golf instructor can be very beneficial, as well as discussing golf improvement tips with fellow golfers, many feel there is something especially helpful about using instruction video tapes as learning aids. Because of their effectiveness, golfing lessons on video or DVDs nowadays, have become more and more popular since they were first introduced.

There are even many golf instructional pros who state that the golf instruction video programs have some significant advantages over taking live golfing lessons. Most golf pros agree that there are four major benefits, which are also the main selling points for making use of the golf training videos that are available nowadays.

Instructional video programs provide visual learning and this is very important to many people. There is a great deal of research that proves when people engage their senses of both sight and sound, they tend to learn better and faster and they retain the information much better. Also, most beginning golfers, and even those who are experienced, tend to prefer to see golf swing improvement techniques demonstrated, as opposed to simply reading about the method being taught.

The second reason why golf training videos are popular, as well as advantageous, is because they are more accessible to more people. They can save people a lot of money as compared to hiring a golf pro for a series of golf lessons, which typically will cost somewhere in the range of $50 to $150 per lesson. Instead, a DVD golf instruction program can deliver the same information but at a small fraction of the price. As a bonus, you can always go back and review any lesson at any time without having to dig into your wallet again to pay for a brush-up lesson.

The third advantage of buying instructional videos is that you can make the most of technology and stop and rewind the video at any point, which is not something that is possible in the presence of a live instructor, especially if you are taking group golfing lessons, as opposed to individual instruction. Being able to rewind and review any part of a particular lesson, or the entire lesson, helps to improve learning and retention through repetition.

The fourth major benefit to using instructional video programs is being able to take advantage of the unique technologies of video production that can be applied to instruction. Golf training videos can utilize many helpful presentation techniques to enhance explanations and present the information more effectively. It is common to see golf videos that use inserts, split screens, close up views, and 3D, computer generated graphics to teach the fundamentals of golf.

These four benefits tend to be the advantages that most people readily mention when talking about golf instruction video programs; however, if you were to talk to golfers who have used such programs, then you would undoubtedly discover that there are a number of other benefits as well. There are differences in teaching styles on the various golf training videos and one style might be more appealing than another. Therefore, it is a good idea to read reviews or talk to others who have used different programs. You can also ask at a pro shop if you can view a sample lesson before buying a full set of golf instruction videos.

Are you a novice golfer who does not know how to swing the club at the ball? Are you in the situation where you consistently swinging aimlessly at the golf ball and it isn’t going where it should be going? You need some golf training. Even the golf greats such as Tiger Woods had to start somewhere and it all begins with practice. Achieve Improved Scores With Golf Training

Tuesday, September 30th, 2008

Over the years, golf has become a favorite pastime and hobby for millions of people in every part of the world. Golfers come from many different backgrounds as well, and many of them were first introduced to golf and gained a deep interest in it through following the achievements of golf greats, like Tiger Woods and Jack Nicklaus. While not everyone can reach the levels of achievement like the legends, anyone can improve their game if they practice their game using golf training devices.

While the vast majority of golfers will probably never feel that playing a perfect round of golf comes easy to them or becomes effortless, with patience and practice almost anyone can get to the point where they feel confident and might even make that elusive hole-in-one. At the very least, with the proper training they might discover that they are able to make par more consistently and even have more holes that they can birdie or eagle.

A great many people decide to take up the hobby of golf because of friends who encourage them, because of opportunities to mingle with those friends while enjoying a round of golf, or simply because they want an excuse to get out of the house and enjoy the great out of doors. No matter why they got started, most everyone also wants to feel that they are always improving their game. Buying quality golf training accessories is a good way to make sure that happens.

Whether you decided to pick up the game of golf after watching a professional tournament and found yourself inspired by the play, or because some buddies encouraged you to join them on the fairways, the chances are high that you could stand to improve your game to some degree or another. The best way to do that is to seek out professional training from a golf pro giving golfing lessons or pick up some of the many golf instruction and training tools that you can find these days to help improve your game and make you a better player.

Buying golf training aids is usually the simplest way to improve your game and it is also a less expensive than signing up for golfing lessons with a pro. There are many different types of golfing accessories that can help you improve your golf swing, golf slice, golf swing plane and golf swing speed, and get better at hitting the ball squarely so it stays on the fairway and out of the rough.

A simple piece of golfing equipment is braces for your back and wrists that can help support a good posture and a proper swing. You will find that even a slight improvement in your stance, posture, swing or follow through can result in a better score. Over time, as you continue improving these small areas of your play, you will find that these little improvements can end up having a big impact on your game, especially if you are consistent in your practice and patient with yourself.

Once you have had a chance to use the entry level types of golfing training equipment and have seen an improvement in your game, you can then decide if you want to take things to the next level. That next level would include things like taking golfing lessons either in a group setting, one-on-one from a golf pro, or buying golf training videos that provide an instructional course. If the budget is tight, the DVD course is probably the best way to go, although many people find the video courses more convenient if they have tight schedules.

Thanks to younger professional players, the sport of golf has enjoyed a steady climb in popularity. An ever increasing number of people are taking up this sport as a means to take it easy and spend a lazy Saturday afternoon. It is easy on the body and practically anyone of any age can enjoy it. If you are just starting out learning the sport of golf, you need some golf training to help ensure that you learn the proper swing. Learn To Fish For Free

Click Here To Get Your Free Fishing For Crappie E-mail Course

As an experienced fisherman I sometimes look back when I first started fishing and wish I would have had the free Internet fishing courses that are available online today. A free fishing course can help you start your fishing experience organized and loaded with great tips and techniques. When you start looking for a free fishing course to download or sign up for first identify what type of fish species you would like to target.

If you are just beginning take a look at your local area and find out what type of fishing is available in your area, then search the Internet for free fishing courses designed specifically for that species. For example if you wanted to find a free crappie fishing course go to Google and search using free crappie fishing course in the search box. If you wanted to target catfish you could enter free catfish fishing course in the Google search box.

I recommend you look for a course that is a series in nature. E-mail courses are great because they stage their information over a specified period of time. This allows you to absorb the information in pieces.

It is much easier to reinforce your free fishing course information in pieces instead of trying to absorb an entire course at once.

Look for a course that breaks each fishing tip and technique into basic steps. For example if I wanted to learn how to fish for crappie using jigs, I would expect a free crappie fishing course to explain in detail what a crappie jig was and what sizes and types were available to fish with. I would expect the course to explain how to tie the jig to your line, what type of crappie rod and real to use and where to fish the crappie jigs. If the course is only one e-mail in length decline it. A free fishing course should be at least 6 to 8 e-mail segments in length. Each segment should explain in detail just one part in a free fishing course.

Each segment of the fishing course should also provide a list of all the free fishing course sections you will receive and when you can expect to receive them.

Remember in today’s world there is a wealth of free information available. So if you are new or an experienced fisherman just go to Goggle and enter free fishing course or a specific search by your preferred species of fish and you are on your way!
